YOU SHOULD KNOW...
> For the Men's league, dress code enforcement has started. You need to have matching jerseys and sweats/shorts. Please make sure your team is proper.
> Minor schedules for the second half will be up on the website by May 18th. Just a reminder that the Majors will resume play on Friday, May 23rd, while all other levels of play for the minors will start again on Saturday, May 24.
> The D-Gel ball hockey equipment is available from the league office, located at the West Soccer Centre. Check out the special knee-shin combo pad, the shin pad, and the Zebra ball hockey gloves.
> The "little ones" have started play. The Pre-Novice kids (ages 3-4-5-6) play every Saturday morning at 9;00am. We have grown to 8 Pre-Novice teams for the 2008 season.

PLAY ON TOURNAMENT BACK IN TOWN!

Edmonton Tournament ... May 24-25
CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Presents "PLAY ON" ... The Official Canadian Street Hockey Tournament. The cross-Canada tour will visit eight cities this summer and feature recreational and competitive street hockey tournament divisions for both genders, all ages, and all skill levels. The Edmonton tournament will be held on May 24-25 in the downtown area surrounding Churchill Square an City Hall. They will have approximately 28 rinks set up to accomodate the teams.
Each Play On! event will also compete with the others on the tour in attempting to set a new Guinness Record in the category of World’s Largest Street Hockey Tournament. In order to break the current record, an event will require participation from approximately 340 teams. Winners and finalists in Elite divisions from each event will progress to a National Championship to compete for the Redwood Cup and recognition as Canada’s Greatest Street Hockey Players. Details of the National Championship will be announced at a later time.
Ball Hockey Edmonton and our Minor Ball Hockey Association of Edmonton are proud to help promote this great event. We have started distributing information packages to all Men's-Women's-Minor teams, so watch for them.
